Love: The Anchor for Spiritual Gifts
We explore 1 Corinthians 13 within its proper context as a guide for using spiritual gifts rather than merely as a wedding passage. Pastor Chad emphasizes that while spiritual gifts are important and still active today, love must be the anchor that keeps the church from falling into two pitfalls: self-loathing (thinking our gifts aren't valuable) and arrogance (thinking we don't need others). Love provides the framework for maturity in exercising spiritual gifts, requiring patience, kindness, and humility. As we journey together in discovering and operating in our spiritual gifts, we're reminded that these gifts are temporary—they'll pass away when Christ returns and we see Him face to face. But love? Love never ends. It's the eternal reality that will remain when everything else fades away.
